My life as a massage therapist started long ago and somehow, inadvertently, began as a family affair starting with my mom, then my grandmother and finally my uncle Mike. A long time ago, when I was around 5 or 6 years old my mother had a beauty parlor in our home. My dear mother sometimes would ask me while her clients were there to massage their hands, feet and the top of their heads. Later in my life as a teenager when visiting my grandmother’s house over the summer I would massage her feet and it felt good to know that it brought her a sense of relaxation and made her feel good. Then later in my life my uncle Mike became a major influence in my study of massage therapy. He did so because by sharing with me his extensive knowledge in areas of body work that was unknown to me at the time. These areas included reflexology, acupressure, and Shiatsu. As a teenage I would recall that when my Uncle Mike would work on me as a teenager I “always felt deeply relaxed and connected!” Who would have thought my family was preparing me for my life's mission? I feel very blessed.
My career as a massage therapist has shown me that no two people are alike and that it takes a true professional to know the difference. I have learned to listen to what my clients ask and provide services that fill that need.
